Schnauble Automotive started out as a side business. Lewis Schnauble was tired of working for someone else, so started providing his quality repairs at home in the evenings. Before he knew it, he had more people coming to his house than he could get to. Lewis took over a section of his current building to start providing weekend auto repairs. Little by little, his business grew, and in 1991 he was able to quit his full-time job and commit fully to his new business. Lewis got so busy that he soon had to hire a full-time staff of technicians for his growing Westminster, MD auto repair shop.
We are a quiet country community, where businesses grow by word of mouth referrals. Our business grew by being a name that families can turn to for honest, trustworthy, and reliable automotive repairs. Our team of technicians knows our regulars by name and genuinely cares about the quality of the work we provide. We are proud to be the go-to garage for many of Westminster’s working moms!

We are here for your full-service automotive repairs and maintenance. We provide a 3 year/36,000-mile warranty on all of our work and guarantee a fair and competitive price. Walk-ins are always welcome, or you can schedule your repairs in advance. We have a bright and open child-friendly lobby, with free Wi-Fi and coffee. If your car, truck, or minivan will be in for the day—arrange after-hours drop-off or pick-up, or use our free shuttle, within a 3 mile radius. If your vehicle is in the shop for the day, we will keep you updated with status texts or emails.
In Case Your Repair Is Not In Your Budget
We understand that you rely on your car to get you to and from work, and all of your family activities. If a major auto repair arises, and it doesn’t quite fit in your budget, we invite you to apply for our car repair financing. If you qualify, this financing will get you back on the road ASAP—and provide you with 6 to 12 months to pay for your unexpected repairs.
